Part 3: How to Prepare for your Senior Portrait Session

What to do During Your Senior Portrait Session...

Your senior portrait session is finally here! You've prepared in advance, brought everything you need, and now it's time to enjoy the moment. Here are five ways to make your session a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable experience:

1. Arrive on Time

Punctuality is key to a smooth and stress-free session. Arriving on time allows you to settle in, review any last-minute details with your photographer, look over your outfits together, and start the session relaxed and without any rush. This ensures we are able to make the most of your scheduled time and get all the shots you want.

2. Bring a Friend or Family Member

Having someone you trust and feel comfortable with can help ease any nervousness and make the session more fun. A friend or family member can assist with touch-ups, help with outfit changes, and provide moral support. Plus, they can help make you laugh and bring out genuine smiles.

3. Trust Your Photographer

Your photographer is there to help you look your best. Trust their expertise and follow their guidance on poses, angles, and settings. They know how to capture you in the most flattering light and make the session flow smoothly. Trusting their vision will result in stunning photos.

4. Be Flexible

Sometimes the best shots come from unexpected moments. Be open to trying different poses, locations, or props that your photographer suggests. Flexibility can lead to unique and creative photos that you might not have initially envisioned. Bear in mind, that you will change outfits multiple times...You might even change back into an outfit when you go to a different location. It's all part of the process. Relax, be patient, and know that I want you to have not just the best experience, but the best images possible.

5. Enjoy the Moment and Have Fun

Remember, this session is all about celebrating you and your achievements. Embrace the moment, enjoy the experience, and have fun with it. Whether you’re striking serious poses or goofing around, your joy and confidence will shine through in the photos.

I hope these few tips help you to feel more prepared and relaxed when it comes to your upcoming senior portrait session. By being prepared, you will feel more comfortable and confident in front of the camera, helping to ensure your photos truly capture your own unique personality and style.
