Just south of Cottage Hill Road, The Venue at Dawes might just seem like a cozy home, but this popular event site is not without its surprises. This venue certainly has a lot to offer for a range of events, but they specialize in weddings to fit any budget.
The fully-fenced backyard space is an oak-canopied oasis stocked with unique touches and southern charm. Through its immaculate landscaping, the large space is divided into different areas, allowing options for both ceremony and reception spaces.

The stand-out ceremony location is tucked away beneath the shadowing boughs of gorgeous oak trees. Custom rustic barn doors open up to a natural cathedral. Built-in bench seating surrounds the center aisle, leading to a lovely wooden pergola that can be decorated to taste. With the outer frame of lush green shrubbery, this spot feels like a secret garden. The reclaimed windows that hang next to the barn doors are my favorite part of this area. They bring together this perfect union of man-made and natural elements.
Another beautiful feature is the 2200-square-foot pavilion in the center of the yard. This rustic open-air barn would be a great reception area or even a backup ceremony space in case of rain. Behind the pavilion is a large green space that is perfect for adding a tent or even to serve as a beautiful backdrop for portraits.

TOP 3 REASONS I LOVE THIS VENUE
1. It is so thoughtfully arranged.
Venue owner Lori Gilbert created spaces that not only provide what the bride and groom might want but that also give guests what they need for comfort and enjoyment. All around the yard, guests can find lovely conversation nooks complete with beautiful and unique seating options so that all can relax and truly enjoy their experience.
2. It has a ton of versatility.
If you are looking to have the wedding outdoors, but want to be prepared just in case of rain, this venue is definitely a great option. There’s always the outdoor ceremony space, but there's also an available pavilion and plenty of green space which can beautifully accommodate a tent.
3. The owner is a woman who knows her clientele and what they want.
“Our claim to fame is affordability,” says Gilbert. Brides at this venue can have as little or as much as fits their price point. They can choose to decorate the venue themselves or can pay a la carte to have the areas of their choice prepped for their dream wedding.
